Book Aid International

“It really is a great take on how to teach coding as it lifts up the mirror to our everyday life, and everyday situations and turns them into opportunities to code – the reader has to understand how they work things out often and seemingly without thinking in order to eventually make things happen on a screen. Not a bad purchase at all. If ever an author were thinking outside of the box, this would be it – quite literally.”

Armadillo Magazine

“Jim takes us on a whirlwind tour of our own brains, describing the need for both a mathematical and analytical approach to problem solving, but also a fantastic does of creativity to really think around and solve particular coding issues.”

Read It Daddy

“Packed full of information and lively illustrations featuring fun robot characters who enliven the text throughout. How To Think Like a Coder takes what can be a rather intimidating topic and makes it more accessible and something all the family can share!”

The Book Activist

“Programming needs a grasp of the basics – coding – so here’s the ideal start … An excellent book.”

Parents In Touch

“A complex topic made easier to understand with striking illustrations.”

Creative Steps Magazine Book Review

Great for the classroom
This is a great book for beginners and anyone who thinks code is scary – there’s no need to be!

I have found this book to be really useful especially as a teacher who has taken a lot of the ideas and used it in the classroom as well as events like open evening, options evening/day and in lessons!
The book is laid out quite nice and colourful – not like traditional textbooks – it’s a lovely introduction to computing/coding.
